Chakras Part III of IV

Hi! I AM back with the last three main chakras.  Just a quick reminder and we’ll be on our way. The seven main chakras are traditionally associated with certain functions within the body.  Each is affiliated with a particular gland, nerve plexus, color, flower, crystal, emotion and much more. I actually found an article that discussed how cleanliness of different areas of your house reflect the state of your different chakras!  In this article, the aura is represented by the outdoor areas of the house including the porch, deck, garage and landscaping.  This explains why I feel so relaxed and sometimes down right relieved after I do a good house cleaning.  I guess “cleanliness is next to Godliness!”   

I have gone through several sources and I have attempted to compile a comprehensive, if not complete, list of these affiliations.  The rest of the lists will be shared during subsequent posts since it was getting too lengthy for one.  If you recognize some of the symptoms of an unhappy chakra or a happy chakra on the lists, you will know who needs work and who is running smoothly.  There are so many ways to relate to your chakras.  Find a way that you can relate to and improve your relationship with your chakras! 

Here are a few points about some of the list entries.  

• The associated deities are from the Hindu religion.

I point you to these resources with some reluctance because I know the information has been twisted from the original.  This is through no fault of the sources above (at least I don’t think so). We will get into that in another post, not today. 

• Bija mantras are syllables repeated during meditation or yoga to focus the mind and energy.  Each single syllable is believed to resonate with the energy of the associated chakra.  Bija is Sanskrit for “seed.”

The Throat Chakra is associated with the neck, thyroid, jaw, mouth ears, cervical spine, creativity and being judgmental.  An unbalanced Throat Chakra will exhibit chronic throat conditions, thyroid issues, shyness, speech and/or hearing impairments, blocked creativity, being judgmental of yourself and others, and passive aggressive behavior. Communication, self-expression and will are key issues for the fifth chakra. This chakra can be balanced with singing, humming, chanting, deep breathing, speaking your truth, practicing self-acceptance and tolerance of others, being quiet in solitude, expressing your creativity, journaling, and gargling with salt water.

The Third Eye is associated with the eyes, sinuses, brain, pituitary gland, visualization, discernment, clarity, intuition and inner peace.  Brow Chakra imbalances manifest as headaches, poor eyesight, lack of clarity, confusion, forgetfulness, having a distorted sense of reality, and being manipulative.  Balancing your higher and lower selves and trusting your inner guidance are key issues for this chakra.  Meditating, praying, practicing visualization, trusting your instincts, practicing solitude and keeping a dream journal will all help balance your Third Eye.

The Crown Chakra is associated with the spine, joints, brain, pineal gland, and cervical vertebrae (neck bones).  It is our Spiritual Center and our connection to Source Consciousness.  Imbalances in the Crown Chakra show themselves as migraines, tension headaches, depression, disorientation and brain disorders such as ALS, MS, epilepsy and dementia.  Key issues for the Crown include inner wisdom, death of the body and hypertension (along with the heart).  You can balance your Crown Chakra with meditation, prayer, by engaging in spiritual activities, and by connecting with nature, others and your Higher Power.
